Historic Olde Town charm meets modern northwest living

Updated Q2 2026

About Arvada

Arvada is a thriving northwest suburb that blends a walkable, revitalized Olde Town district with sprawling residential neighborhoods and easy access to both downtown Denver and the foothills. One of the metro's most established communities, Arvada has seen significant reinvestment in its downtown core, bringing craft breweries, restaurants, and cultural venues to complement its strong schools and family-friendly neighborhoods.

Location

Located about 10 miles northwest of downtown Denver. Commute to downtown is 20–30 minutes via I-70 or Wadsworth Boulevard, or via the RTD G Line commuter rail from Olde Town Arvada station. I-76, I-70, and Wadsworth provide highway access. Golden and the foothills are just 10 minutes west.

Schools

Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco) / Adams 12 Five Star Schools

Most of Arvada falls within Jeffco, with northern portions in Adams 12. Arvada West High School, Pomona High School, and Standley Lake High School serve the community. Both districts are well-regarded with strong academic and extracurricular programs.

Lifestyle & Recreation

Olde Town Arvada is the community's crown jewel — a walkable district with craft breweries, locally owned restaurants, a weekly farmers' market, and the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, one of the largest arts centers in the state. Majestic View Park, Ralston Creek Trail, and Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge provide outdoor recreation. The Candelas master-planned community offers mountain-view living near Standley Lake.

Who Lives Here

Young families, professionals seeking a balance of urban access and suburban space, and longtime residents who've watched Olde Town's renaissance. The G Line commuter rail has attracted downtown workers who want a shorter commute from the northwest suburbs.

What Makes It Unique

Arvada's Olde Town district is one of the best small-town downtowns in the metro — the G Line commuter rail connects it directly to Union Station, making it one of the few suburban walkable districts with a direct transit link to downtown Denver.
