Schools

Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco)

Evergreen is served by Jeffco, one of the largest districts in Colorado. Wilmot Elementary, Evergreen Middle School, and Evergreen High School are all well-regarded, with small-community feel despite being part of a large district. Bergen Meadow and King Murphy elementary schools are also popular.

Lifestyle & Recreation

Evergreen Lake is the community's centerpiece — offering ice skating in winter, paddleboarding in summer, and the iconic Lake House venue year-round. The Evergreen Nature Center and Hiwan Homestead Museum provide cultural anchors. Downtown Evergreen features locally owned restaurants, galleries, and shops. Mount Evans (now Mount Blue Sky) is a short drive for world-class hiking. Elk, deer, and the occasional bear are regular neighborhood visitors.

Who Lives Here

Outdoor enthusiasts, remote workers, creative professionals, and families who want their kids to grow up in the mountains. Evergreen draws people who prioritize nature and space over suburban convenience and don't mind mountain driving in winter.

What Makes It Unique

Evergreen offers something almost no other Denver-area community can — genuine mountain living with national forest, wildlife, and a 7,200-foot elevation, all within a 35-minute commute to downtown. It's where the suburbs end and the Rockies begin.
